This collection of image-transfer monoprints is an exploration of receipts and their ability to record and store information. By creating these monoprints, the ink obscures forever the original content of the receipt, and all remaining record is transferred to the print.

I originally collected these receipts back in 2017 during my first time living in Tokyo, perhaps as an attempt to hold onto the fond memories I made there, but I’ve found that over time I no longer remember where each of these receipts are from.

I utilized the monoprints to create an overwhelming heap of objects and visual information for their installation. I layered the monoprints and the now ink-covered, obscured receipts used to create them.
